Conversations & Messaging
Canvas Conversations
Canvas includes a messaging feature designed to replace the standard LMS mail inbox. Canvas Conversations is intended to provide the user with flexibility for how messages will be received and sent. Conversation messages are housed in your Inbox and can be accessed by clicking on the Inbox link in the Help bar.
One of the biggest differences you'll probably notice is that you do not have to log into Canvas to respond to a message. As long as you have an email address or other Registered Web Service added to your Profile, Canvas will push your messages to you. Also worthy of note is that your Inbox is global to your account, so you will be able to access messages from all of your courses and all of your students in a single place. Your inbox can be filtered to be course specific as needed. When sending the same message to more than one student, check the box to send an individual message to each recipient if you do not want each user to see who else was included in the message.
