How do Announcements work?

With Announcements, you can create a message as a part of your course that Canvas will also send to all course participants. All announcements are automatically available in the Discussions area so that class participants can ask follow up questions. Course announcements have an RSS feed and users can subscribe so that anytime an announcement is created it will be delivered to them per their preferred communication channel (Facebook, email, etc). If you are a blogger, you may choose to have Canvas syndicate your blog posts, meaning that they will be sent out as course announcements (you can choose to filter so that only certain blog topics end up as course announcements).
