Make informed choices to develop your funding strategy
Break down school costs and assess how much will be covered by your “free money.”
How well will your own resources cover the remaining cost? How much can you cover with your own savings? How much can your family help?
If you have expenses left over, think about getting a job. Could you use work-study to cover some costs?
There are many ways you can save money or cut costs for school if you budget carefully. A strong budget will help you identify how much you still need for school. Then and only then, if necessary, consider borrowing. You are in control. Borrow only what you need.
