Think small, win big

Small scholarships can add up to a lot of money for school. Give as much attention to awards with small dollar amounts as you do to larger awards.

Scholarships for smaller amounts, say $100-$500, rarely get as much attention as the big awards. Adding up several small scholarships works in your favor. There may be fewer applicants competing for the money, which means a greater probability of winning. Small scholarships alone may not cover your full costs, but they can help in big ways, like buying books for a term or helping to pay rent.
