Academic Program Review Learning Outcomes Mapping
To equitably assess student learning, well-written, measurable learning outcomes must be established at the course level, program level, and institutional level. Faculty can identify the course learning outcomes by reviewing the course outline available in Curriculog.
Learning outcomes at the program and institutional level must be mapped to ensure all faculty know which learning outcomes are being assessed in their course and must identify which assessment tool(s) is being used to assess the outcome. A Learning Outcomes map is a handy way to keep track of this information.
Each year faculty will review the Learning Outcomes maps that have been developed and ensure all instructors are aware of which learning outcomes are being assessed in their courses, how they are being assessed, and that they are tracking them using the Canvas Learning Outcomes Template so the data can be collected and used annually to assess student learning. Faculty can access the learning outcomes maps in the Canvas Assessment Task Course that corresponds with the Academic Year.
If the course is not available in Canvas, contact assessment@yvcc.edu to be added to the correct Canvas course.
