In most cases, instructors will do very little editing of videos. However there may be some small issues that you can easily fix using the available edit tool.
- Go to your Panopto folder and hover the mouse pointer over the title of the video you want to edit
- A row of icons will appear under the video title, click Edit
- Switch to Firefox browser if needing to Edit, Chrome no longer supports Silverlight and this is needed to edit a video
- click the start and end place on the video graphic for each section you want to remove from the video.
- This does not remove this section but only selects it to not play
- This is is a good way to clean up starting sections getting set to record, or ending section noises. You can also cut out any section within the video that you may need removed, for example: if a student asks an inappropriate question etc.
- There is a save or revert button in the top right of the screen. Your edits are not set until you save or if you revert to the original state.
Play with this until you are happy with the results, maybe use a video copy until you feel comfortable using the tool.
