Course Navigation

Do it your way!

Whether you decide to add a consistent color scheme throughout your course, to add custom banners or graphics to your pages, or to design your own home page, there are many different ways to customize a course so it is a unique reflection of your instructional style and the subject you teach.

Any easy way to begin customizing your course is to remove student access to any course navigation tools you are planning not to use.  Please note that although we won't be using all of them, all of the navigation tools in this course are currently enabled so you can see what all the options are.

Please note that removing navigation tools from student view will leave the those items ghosted, or grayed out, in the instructor's view of the course.  This is true for most of the navigation tools, however, some menu items such as Panopto, Attendance, and Chat will also be removed from the instructor's navigation menu when they are removed from the course navigation menu.

Also of note, some menu items like Modules, Announcements, and Outcomes will automatically be removed from student navigation and remain ghosted for the instructor until content has been added to those areas.  Although ghosted, these unpopulated content areas are still accessible to instructors.
