How do I use the Canvas Interface?
Navigating in Canvas is easy!
Canvas navigation consists of two vertically oriented navigation menus to the left side of your screen and a breadcrumbs menu running horizontally across the top of the screen. The far left menu is the Global Navigation menu. This menu will take you to various places in Canvas such as your Account settings, Courses list, Inbox, Calendar, and Help options in Canvas. The inner left menu is the Course Navigation menu and it only appears after you have entered a course. This menu will take you to various places within a course such as the course Home page, course Announcements, the Syllabus, Grades, and Modules. The breadcrumbs menu consists of a series of links that create a trail to help you track your location in Canvas. This menu offers a quick and easy way to move backward in a course.
