The browser Canvas developers recommend is Chrome, but Firefox and Safari typically work well too. Internet Explorer is not a recommended browser for Canvas, so please do not use it. Please read Which browsers does Canvas support? Links to an external site. in the Canvas Guides to learn more.

http:// vs. https://

Some online content is unsecured (http://) and some is secured (https://). When secured and unsecured content is mixed on a page, the page will display blank in Canvas due to mixed content security settings in your browser. This is a browser issue, not a Canvas issue. If/when content does not load, please get in the habit of looking in the URL address bar for the option to enable the mixed content.

TIP: Your browser is one of the first things you and your students should check if you encounter any problems working in Canvas. Temporarily switching browsers can help resolve many technical issues and helps to narrow down problems when you are reporting technical difficulties to the help desk.
